At the Oct. 13 debate between Sen. Julian Cyr and John Flores, I was appalled by Flores’ belligerent attitude and his habit of rudely talking past his allotted time and interrupting Cyr.
But even more appalling than Flores’ combative manner were his frequent misstatements about Cyr’s record. Whether they were deliberate or came from Flores’ lack of understanding, they were unacceptable distortions of the truth. If a candidate can’t win on his own record, he doesn’t deserve our votes.
Cyr’s record of accomplishments for the Cape and Islands is sterling. I encourage voters to join me in re-electing him on Nov. 6.
